Xiao-Lin He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. His research primarily focuses on the structural mechanisms that activate cell-surface receptors involved in cancer and neural development. He employs X-ray crystallography and various biochemical and biophysical tools to obtain atomic-resolution views of transmembrane receptors and their recognition and activation processes, especially in relation to clinical applications. His areas of expertise include angiogenesis, biochemistry of proteins, biophysics, cancer biology, cell adhesion mechanisms, neurobiology, and structural biology. With a PhD from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and postdoctoral training at Stanford University, he has contributed significantly to the understanding of receptor-ligand interactions and their implications in health and disease.
