Dr. Xiao Wang

Biography

Xiao Wang is the Department Head and J.O. Berger M.E. Bock Professor in the Department of Statistics at Purdue University. With a research focus on Asymptotics, Computational Methods, Statistical Inference, Nonparametric Regression, and Density Models, he contributes significantly to the field. His work also extends to Physical Science Engineering Statistics, addressing areas such as aeronautical engineering, astronomy, civil engineering, and climate and environmental science. Moreover, he specializes in Stochastic Analysis and Survival Analysis, and he has a keen interest in Time Series analysis. Dr. Wang has guided several Ph.D. students and serves as an Associate Editor for Technometrics, highlighting his engagement with the academic community. He holds a B.S. and an M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Science and Technology of China, completed in 1997 and 2000 respectively, and earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Michigan in 2005.
