Xiaobei Chen is a professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carleton University. Born in Guiyang, China, Chen holds a B.A. from Guizhou University, an M.Phil. from the University of Hong Kong, and a Ph.D. from the University of Toronto.
