Biography

Xiaoling Li earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1982 and a Master of Science in Nuclear Pharmacy in 1985 from Shanghai Medical College, China. In 1991, she received a Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutics from the University of Utah. Dr. Li completed several years of post-doctoral training at Ciba-Geigy Corporation, now known as Novartis. She has been a member of the faculty at the University of the Pacific where she has received the University Distinguished Faculty Award and the AAPS Outstanding Educator Award, recognizing her significant contributions to pharmaceutical sciences education. During her tenure, Dr. Li has mentored 27 PhD, 4 MS, and 16 post-doctoral research fellows. Her research interests include antibody mimics, peptide-drug conjugates, cancer-targeted drug delivery, and transbuccal/sublingual drug delivery. Dr. Li has published over 111 research papers, review articles, book chapters, and has presented more than 190 abstracts. Throughout her academic career, she has emphasized the importance of fostering a positive teaching and research environment that encourages interaction among faculty and a diverse group of professional and graduate students.
