Biography

Xiaolong Shui is a Senior Lecturer in International Business Strategy, with expertise in corporate social responsibility, nonmarket strategy, global strategy, corporate governance, climate change, and sustainability. His research focuses on how businesses, including both large corporations and small-and-medium-sized enterprises, can address grand challenges within their institutional contexts, with a particular emphasis on climate change. Dr. Shui aims to develop theoretical frameworks that help understand how businesses can transition from profit maximization to generating meaningful societal impacts. He is dedicated to integrating sustainability into business education and is passionate about creating interactive and innovative teaching methods, such as role-playing card games, to help students acquire the skills necessary to tackle global challenges in the business context. He currently leads the MSc International Business Strategy: Global Challenges program, which is accredited by the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals (ISEP). In addition, he has been elected to serve on the Division Teaching Team within the Organizations and Natural Environment Division of the Academy of Management.
