Lulu Cambronne, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research primarily focuses on understanding how metabolites influence cellular signaling cascades and epigenetic regulation. Dr. Cambronne utilizes innovative fluorescent biosensors developed in her lab to track the subcellular availability of specific metabolites. She has received notable accolades throughout her academic career, including the Kirschstein National Service Research Awards at both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral levels, and has been recognized as the 2013 OHSU New Inventor of the Year for her development of the RISC-trap/miR-trap assay, which empirically identifies targets of specific microRNAs within cells. Additionally, she was awarded the NIH Director's New Innovator Award in 2017, the Pew Biomedical Scholar award in 2020, and was a Scialog Fellow in 2020-2021. In 2022, she became a MAVEN Scientist and also received the William H. Tonn Professorial Fund Fellow designation.
