Biography

Xiaowen Dong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, where he is also a Tutorial Fellow at Lady Margaret Hall. He is a member of the Machine Learning Research Group at the Oxford-Man Institute. Before joining Oxford, Xiaowen was a postdoctoral associate at the MIT Media Lab and continues to be a research affiliate there. He completed his PhD at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. His research focuses on leveraging signal processing and machine learning techniques to analyze network data and engage in applications that address questions within the social and economic sciences.
