Biography

Dr. Xiaoying Chen is a Conjoint Lecturer in Medicine & Health at the George Institute for Global Health and a Heart Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow. With 18 years of experience in international multicenter clinical trials, she has designed and conducted numerous large-scale international studies, significantly impacting clinical guidelines and decision-making. Dr. Chen's research focuses on the treatment of acute stroke care and stroke recovery, where she develops and implements innovative clinical trials and new measurement tools to support stroke care, particularly for remote and underserved populations. She has been the Global Project Lead for pivotal trials, including INTERACT3, involving over 7000 stroke patients across 130+ centers in 10 countries, and has managed critical studies like ENCHANTED and SAVE. Currently, she leads several digital health initiatives within the Global Brain Health Program, working with international experts on adaptive platform trials and projects aimed at enhancing clinical decision-making through predictive modeling and artificial intelligence tools for stroke rehabilitation.
