Biography

Xin He is a Professor in the Department of Human Genetics at the University of Chicago. He began his career as an experimental biologist, obtaining a B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Science and Technology in China. He pursued graduate training at Northwestern University and later transitioned to computational biology, earning a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2009 under the supervision of Dr. Saurabh Sinha. He completed postdoctoral training with Dr. Hao Li at UCSF and with Drs. Kathryn Roeder and Ziv Bar-Joseph at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2014, Dr. He joined the University of Chicago. His research focuses on translating genomic data to understand human diseases.
