Biography

Prof. Xin Li received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 2005, following MSc and BSc degrees in Electronics Engineering from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 2001 and 1998, respectively. In 2005, he co-founded Xigmix Inc. to commercialize his PhD research, serving as Chief Technical Officer until the company was acquired by Extreme DA in 2007, which was subsequently acquired by Synopsis (Nasdaq: SNPS) in 2011. From 2009 to 2012, he served as Assistant Director of the FCRP Focus Research Center for Circuit & System Solutions (C2S2), a national consortium of 13 research universities, collaborating with the U.S. semiconductor industry and the U.S. Department of Defense on advanced integrated circuit design challenges. He held the position of Assistant Director at Carnegie Mellon’s Center for Silicon System Implementation (CSSI) in 2014-2015, involving 20 faculty members focused on integrated circuit systems. His research interests encompass integrated circuits and signal processing data analytics. He has served on editorial boards for major IEEE and ACM journals and has been involved in various technical committees and program committees for major conferences. His contributions to the field have been recognized with multiple awards, including the NSF Faculty Early Career Development Award (CAREER) in 2012 and several best paper awards at various conferences.
