Biography

Xin Wu is an Adjunct Assistant Professor and Research Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University in the Department of Neuroscience & Experimental Therapeutics. He obtained his MD from Nantong Medical College in 1985 and a Master of Science in Medical Physiology from Suzhou Medical College in 1993. His research focuses on the effects of mechanical forces on cell signaling pathways, specifically how these forces lead to ion channel activation. His recent studies investigate cardiovascular neuronal systems, with interests in ion channels activated by mechanical stress, integrin-mediated signaling pathways, and the exploration of new drug developments for conditions such as epilepsy. Wu employs various technical approaches including nano-techniques, electrophysiology, and imaging techniques to analyze signaling pathways and cellular responses to mechanical stimuli. His work aims to connect the extracellular matrix to the regulation of cardiovascular and neuronal tissues, particularly in the context of tissue injury and remodeling.
