Biography

Xing Wang is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Academic Director of the Integrated Business Engineering (IBE) program at Purdue University's Daniels School of Business. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial Systems Engineering from Georgia Tech. His research interests focus on operations research, optimization methods, transportation system analytics, data science, and combinatorial optimization applications in various sectors including transportation, manufacturing, power systems, finance, and healthcare. Dr. Wang actively mentors undergraduate research teams, exemplified by leading a team that won first place at the Undergraduate Research Expo for their work in Natural Language Processing. His teaching spans data science capstone courses at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, as well as in Harbert College of Business at Auburn University. Prior to joining academia, he was a lead engineer at GE Research for over seven years, developing smart optimization algorithms for large-scale real-world problems across multiple divisions. His commitment to enhancing student engagement and experiential learning is evident in his leadership of curriculum development initiatives and expansion efforts for the IBE program.
