Dr. Xinning Li

Biography

Dr. Xinning Li is a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He completed his MD at the University of Virginia and graduated summa cum laude from Campbell University with a BS. His training includes a fellowship in Sports Medicine at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, and additional training in Shoulder & Elbow surgery at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in advanced arthroscopic and open surgical techniques addressing disorders of the shoulder, elbow, and knee, with a strong interest in sports medicine. Dr. Li serves as a team physician for Boston University athletics and has previously worked as an assistant team physician for the New York Mets. His research interests focus on tissue engineering, ligament reconstruction, rotator cuff repair outcomes, and shoulder arthroplasty. Dr. Li's work has led to over 100 peer-reviewed publications and multiple awards in the field. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is committed to providing exceptional patient care and advancing the field of orthopaedic surgery through research and education.
