Xiuling Li holds the Truchard Foundation Endowed Chair and is a Professor in the Chandra Family Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. She received her B.S. degree from Peking University and her Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to joining UT Austin in August 2021, she was a faculty member at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she served as the Donald Biggar Willett Professor of Engineering and interim director of the Nick Holonyak Jr. Micro Nanotechnology Laboratory. With a research focus on nanostructured semiconductor materials and devices, she has published over 160 journal papers and holds more than 20 patents. Her research involves innovative epitaxial growth and nanofabrication approaches, including metalorganic chemical vapor deposition and strain-induced self-rolled-up membranes. Li has delivered over 140 invited lectures globally and has received several prestigious awards such as the NSF CAREER award and the DARPA Young Faculty Award. She is a Fellow of IEEE, the American Physics Society, and the National Academy of Inventors, among others.
