Xiuling Li is the Truchard Foundation Endowed Chair and a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. She received her B.S. degree from Peking University and her Ph.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles. Prior to her current role, she held post-doctoral positions at the California Institute of Technology and the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. In 2007, she joined the faculty of the University of Illinois, where she served as the Donald Biggar Willett Professor and interim director of the Nick Holonyak Jr. Micro Nanotechnology Laboratory. Since August 2021, she has been a faculty member at UT Austin, focusing her research on nanostructured semiconductor materials and devices. Dr. Li has published over 160 journal papers and holds more than 20 patents. Her work employs innovative epitaxial growth and nanofabrication techniques to develop applications that address the critical needs of size, weight, power, and cost in microelectronic devices. A recognized leader in her field, she has received several honors, including the NSF CAREER award and the DARPA Young Faculty Award, and is a Fellow of multiple prestigious societies, including IEEE and the American Physics Society.
