Dr. Xuan Luo

Biography

Xuan Luo is a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand. With a strong interest in resident education and surgical training, he is dedicated to mentoring future medical professionals. Dr. Luo completed his undergraduate education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, before attending Tufts University School of Medicine. He emerged as a leader, being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and receiving the Martin L. Loeb Memorial Prize in Surgery. After finishing his residency at Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency, supervised by esteemed institutions like Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, he continued his advanced training at the Harvard Hand/Upper Extremity Fellowship. Dr. Luo has been recognized for his exceptional teaching abilities and is devoted to improving patient outcomes through surgical and nonsurgical approaches for conditions affecting the upper extremities. He encourages anyone experiencing pain or movement issues in their hands, elbows, or shoulders to seek specialized care. He is particularly focused on treating carpal tunnel syndrome, forearm fractures, and degenerative diseases of the hand, emphasizing a personalized approach to recovery and rehabilitation.
