Biography

Xuchen Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Pathology at Yale School of Medicine. He completed his medical education and pathology training before earning his PhD in Pathology from China. Following this, he pursued a residency in pathology at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center and completed a fellowship in liver and GI pathology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Since 2012, he has been a faculty member at Yale, serving as the Director of the GI/Liver Pathology Service. Professor Zhang's clinical research focuses on liver and GI pathology, including both neoplastic and non-neoplastic liver diseases, pancreatic neoplasms, colorectal cancer, and drug-induced liver injuries. He has published over 240 scientific reviews and book chapters and played a significant role as a co-investigator in various research projects, supported by NIH funding. Zhang is also actively involved in education, having served as course faculty for several prestigious pathology organizations.
