Biography

Xudong Zhang is a Professor in the Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering at Texas A&M University. He is also affiliated with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Dr. Zhang earned his Ph.D. in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1997. His research interests lie at the intersection of biomechanics, human-machine interaction, and robotics. He focuses on musculoskeletal biomechanics and the modeling of the musculoskeletal system, integrating multi-scale approaches for health applications. His work includes designing human-machine systems and developing assistive devices and prosthetics. Dr. Zhang has received numerous honors, including being a keynote speaker at the IEEE International Conference on Human-Machine Systems in 2021 and being awarded the Liollio Family Faculty Fellow in 2017. he is recognized for his contributions to the field, including the Established Investigator Award from the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation and the Xerox Award for Faculty Research Excellence from the College of Engineering at the University of Illinois.
