Biography

Xuechang Leng is a spatial designer, colourist, and researcher currently serving as a Lecturer in Fashion Interior Design at the Shanghai College of Fashion and Innovation. Xuechang earned a doctoral degree from the Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture at the University of Edinburgh in 2023. His academic journey includes a period as a Visiting Scholar in Landscape Architecture at Texas Tech University in 2016. In recent years, Xuechang has undertaken extensive practice-led research and colour installation projects in healthcare environments, including work at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, Hawthorn House in Glasgow, Leuchie House in North Berwick, and Cumbrae Lodge in Ayrshire. Before his time in the UK, Xuechang taught interior design in China and completed several interior architectural colour projects for public and commercial spaces. He has contributed to various journal articles and conference papers in English and has authored interior design books in Chinese.
