Biography

Xuesong Cai is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Information Technology at Lund University in Sweden. He focuses on a range of research interests, including radio propagation, high-resolution parameter estimation, channel characterization modeling, over-the-air channel emulation, optimization, and radio-based localization in the context of 5G wireless communications. He has published over 66 peer-reviewed conference and journal papers and is currently engaged in research related to millimeter-wave (mmWave) and terahertz (THz) channel applications. In addition to his research, he serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters. Cai is a Senior Member of the IEEE and an ambassador for the IEEE AP-S Young Professionals program for 2024. He earned his Bachelor of Science and PhD degrees with honors from Tongji University in Shanghai, China, in 2013 and 2018, respectively. His professional accolades include receiving the China National Scholarship in 2016 and the Outstanding Doctorate Graduate award from the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission in 2018. Cai held postdoctoral positions at various institutions including Aalborg University and Nokia Bell Labs in Denmark as well as Lund University. He has actively contributed to multiple research projects and collaborates extensively on topics related to UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on innovative communication technologies.
