Research in my laboratory focuses on various aspects of biology, including vertebrate mitochondrial systems that exhibit essential biological processes, and the molecular dynamics of host-parasite interactions, particularly mechanisms that govern the origin of new viral and bacterial pathogens through genomic recombination and horizontal gene transfer.
