Biography

Xun Wu is currently a Lecturer in Maritime Engineering at the University of Southampton. He has extensive experience in composite materials and their structural applications, particularly in the lightweight transportation and renewable energy sectors. His research focuses on the development of innovative hybrid material solutions to optimize material and structural design, employing experimental techniques and numerical analysis to understand and predict the behavior of materials and structures. His work has also expanded to include sustainability in the design and manufacture of composites. Prior to his current role, Dr. Wu served as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Bristol. He holds an MSc from Imperial College London and a PhD from the University of Bristol. Xun is passionate about science and engineering and is actively involved in public engagement and outreach activities to promote STEM subjects to broader audiences.
