Biography

Yadira Soto-Feliciano studies chromatin epigenetic regulation, normal development, and cancer. Her research focuses on the study of chromatin as a complex of DNA and proteins that forms chromosomes. She aims to understand post-translational modifications and the building blocks and factors that regulate these events, which play essential roles in maintaining the integrity of cells, tissues, and ultimately entire organisms. Yadira implements a combination of functional genomics, biochemical, genetic, and epigenomic approaches to study how chromatin and epigenetic factors decode the chemical language of chromatin and how dysregulation of these processes can lead to diseases, including cancer.
