Biography

Dr. Yafeng Ma is a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in the Medicine & Health School of Clinical Medicine at the University of New South Wales. He has extensive experience in cancer liquid biopsy and clinical trial studies. His work in cancer cell biology and molecular biology is guided by expertise in the Obstetrics Research Group under the mentorship of Professor Jon Hyett. Dr. Ma's research interests focus on cell-free DNA, cell-free RNA, and exosomes, which are critical for non-invasive prenatal diagnosis and maternal health studies. He completed a four-year post-doctoral research position at the Beatson Institute Cancer Research in Glasgow, UK, from 2009 to 2013, after earning his PhD at Leiden University in the Netherlands from 2004 to 2009.
