Biography

Yair Listokin is the Interim Dean and Shibley Family Fund Professor of Law at Yale Law School. He holds a J.D. from Yale Law School (2005), a Ph.D. from Princeton University (2002), an M.A. from Princeton University (2000), and an A.B. from Harvard University (1998). Listokin has made significant contributions to the fields of tax law, corporate law, and Jewish law. He has played a key role in launching the emerging academic field of law and macroeconomics, and his book "Law and Macroeconomics: Legal Remedies to Recessions" has been influential in this area. He was appointed Interim Dean effective August 1, 2025, after serving as Deputy Dean from 2022 to 2025. Listokin has been recognized as a Distinguished Fellow at the Hebrew University School of Law and as a Milton Friedman Fellow at the Becker-Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago. He has also served as a Visiting Professor at renowned institutions such as Columbia Law School, Harvard Law School, and NYU School of Law. His research has been featured in various major publications including the Wall Street Journal, CNN, and the Boston Globe.
