Biography

Yang Hu is an Associate Professor in the Electrochemical Materials (ELM) section at DTU Energy, specializing in the fundamental understanding of electrocatalysts and their development for electrochemical devices focused on sustainable energy production and utilization. His research encompasses the mechanisms of electrocatalysis, particularly in relation to fuel cells, electrolysis, and power-to-X (P2X) applications. Currently, he leads several projects including Villum-CAT3D, EU-Sustaincell, and DFF-RADICAL, all aimed at advancing the performance and stability of electrocatalysts. He is actively involved in in-situ/operando studies of catalysts under industrial working conditions and is enthusiastic about collaboration with students and researchers in the field. At DTU Energy, he teaches courses in electrochemistry at both the MSc and PhD levels. Hu is dedicated to fostering education and research in electrocatalysis and welcomes students interested in pursuing special projects and research opportunities.
