Biography

Yang Huei joined the Singapore University of Technology and Design in 2012. His scholarly work includes the monograph 'Strait Rituals: China, Taiwan, United States Taiwan Strait Crises, 1954–1958', published by Hong Kong University Press in 2019, which addresses the evolution of tacit accommodation and symbiotic ritualization during the Taiwan Strait Crises. He has contributed to various academic journals including Modern Asian Studies, Asian Affairs, and the Journal of Contemporary Asia, and has reviewed numerous monographs and edited volumes. His current research project focuses on cultural interstices regarding technological exchanges between Taiwan, China, and the United States during the late 1970s, alongside themes related to transnational businesses and the diaspora. He possesses a significant academic background with a Ph.D. from the National University of Singapore and has taught various subjects including History and International Development in Asia.
