Biography

Dr. Li's research lies at the intersection of genetics, gene regulation, and disease. A major focus of Dr. Li's lab is to dissect the impact of genetic variation on gene regulation. In particular, Dr. Li's team develops computational approaches to investigate the genetic effects of gene regulatory mechanisms that have historically been underappreciated. These mechanisms include mRNA splicing, degradation, and post-transcriptional processes. The lab studies the dysregulation of these processes that contribute to complex diseases and explores novel regulatory pathways that could be leveraged as therapeutic targets.
