Biography

Yang Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Nuclear Engineering Department at Texas A&M University. He received his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in 2018, and previously earned both an M.S. from the China Institute of Atomic Energy in 2013 and a B.S. from Tsinghua University in 2010. His research focuses on advanced topics in nuclear engineering including efficient multiscale/multiphysics modeling and simulation, uncertainty quantification, and intelligent control operation for advanced nuclear systems. Liu's work aims to enhance engineering decision-making through simulation support and analysis of heterogeneous data. He is a member of the American Nuclear Society and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, contributing to advancements in his field through research and collaboration. Liu leads the Scientific Machine Learning Advanced Reactor Technologies (SMART) Lab, where he investigates innovative solutions for complex problems within nuclear systems.
