Biography

Yang Song is an Associate Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of New South Wales. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and obtained his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Sydney in 2013. His research primarily focuses on Computer Vision, Deep Learning, and Multimodal Human-centred AI, with significant contributions through over 220 peer-reviewed publications in prestigious conferences and journals such as CVPR, ICCV, and NeurIPS. His current projects aim to develop deep learning algorithms for complex computer vision tasks, including segmentation of radiological images for cancer analysis, 3D image reconstruction, and vision-based autonomous driving. He has received numerous awards, including the ARC Future Fellowship and the Faculty of Engineering Research Excellence Award. His commitment to academia is evident not only in his research but also in his teaching and supervision of students.
