Biography

Yang Yang is an Associate Professor in the Borch Department of Medicinal Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Purdue University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Shanghai University in 2005. He earned his Ph.D. in Physiology and Biology from Georgia State University in 2011, subsequently completing his postdoctoral research at Yale University School of Medicine until 2014. His research primarily focuses on genetic neurological diseases, particularly autism and epilepsy, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies. Yang's lab, Y-lab, is dedicated to understanding the disease mechanisms of SCN2A-related autism and epilepsy, with ongoing projects aimed at developing next-generation therapeutic interventions. He teaches courses in pharmacogenomics and integrated pharmacotherapeutics, contributing to innovative research supported by multiple NIH grants. He has published widely and is currently accepting students for research opportunities in his lab.
