Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Yanlu Xing. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Yanlu Xing is an experienced geologist and geochemist who completed his PhD in Geochemistry at Monash University in 2019. He has held a postdoctoral position at the University of Minnesota, working on NSF-NASA-funded deep ocean exploration projects. At Monash University, he has led the ARC Linkage Project in the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment. In 2023, Dr. Xing was awarded the prestigious ARC DECRA fellowship to advance research on rare earth element (REE) minerals. His research integrates field studies, hydrothermal experiments, and geochemical modeling to investigate fluid–mineral reactions, which support improved mineral exploration and innovative ore processing techniques in deposits such as porphyry copper, iron oxide–copper–gold (IOCG), and orogenic gold systems. His current research interests focus on critical metal hydrothermal transport, mineral replacement reactions, and the application of synchrotron experiments to geological samples.
