Biography

Yaping Luo is a part-time assistant professor at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and leads the software engineering automation team within ING Tech R&D. His current research interests focus on conceptual modeling, meta-modeling, software re-engineering and reverse engineering, low-code development, business process modeling, test automation, and model-based testing. Previously, his research included safety engineering and functional safety within the automotive domain, emphasizing safety assessments according to standards and safety case development for automotive architecture design. During his PhD, he worked on modeling safety standards such as ISO 26262 and applied model-based techniques to support safety assurance assessment, including safety argumentation modeling and metrics design. Yaping holds a PhD from TU/e in the Netherlands, as well as an MSc and BSc in Computer Science from Beihang University. He has experience as an advanced consultant in the Applied Modeling group at Altran, and worked as a scientific programmer at ASML through ESI Altran.
