Biography

Yared Belay is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Health Economics Group within the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University. He holds a PhD in Health Economics from Monash University, with his degree expected to be conferred in 2025. Yared also earned an MSc in Pharmacoepidemiology from Addis Ababa University in 2020 and a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Gondar in 2014. His research interests focus on model-based trial-based economic evaluations and health outcomes research, particularly in quality of life measurement. He is currently contributing to the Public Health Genomics program led by Professor Paul Lacaze, focusing on the economic evaluation of population genomic screening. Yared has expertise related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, working on projects that assess the cost-effectiveness of mental health interventions and other health economics-related inquiries.
