Yaroslav Melekh is a Research Fellow at the Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources at University College London. His research encompasses a broad range of topics related to the green transition, including climate finance in developing countries, energy innovation, and electricity markets, particularly focusing on UK-EU hybrid interconnection and the political economy of European energy scenarios that involve phasing out natural gas. Prior to his appointment at UCL, Yaroslav had extensive experience in both public and private sectors, having served as a Country Programme Manager for the Swedish Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and as an Energy Attaché at the Embassy of Sweden in Kyiv, where he managed cooperation projects in energy and climate and worked closely with the Ukrainian and Swedish governments, as well as multilateral development banks.
