Biography

Yashar Ahmadian is an Associate Professor in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on understanding the large networks of neurons in the cerebral cortex and how they process sensory inputs to create perceptions and higher-level cognitive functions. He utilizes simplified mathematical models to capture the core mechanistic features of neural circuits and connect them to computational objectives.
