Biography

Dr. Yasir Noori is a Lecturer in the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. His primary research interests are in 2D materials, electrochemical deposition, quantum information, integrated photonics, and nanofabrication. Notably, he is a Co-Investigator on a £1.5 million EPSRC project aiming to advance the understanding and application of two-dimensional materials heterostructures through innovative electrochemical methods. Dr. Noori is a Chartered Physicist and Chartered Engineer, a Senior Member of IEEE, and has earned recognition as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He has a strong academic background with a PhD from Lancaster University in Integrated Photonics and Quantum Communications. His expertise has led to the development of advanced technologies, including high-energy particle detectors at Lancaster University and collaborative research projects at various esteemed institutions. He is actively involved in the research community as a committee member for several IOP groups and regularly reviews for multiple high-impact journals. His contributions extend to numerous patents, book chapters, and he is a frequent speaker at international conferences. Dr. Noori has been awarded numerous accolades for his outstanding achievements, including the Dean’s Award for early career researchers and multiple poster awards.
