Biography

Yasmine Abbas is a French architect, researcher, and educator focused on the impacts of neo-nomadism in design and experience. She authored the book 'Le Néo-nomadisme: Mobilités, partage, transformations identitaires et urbaines' (FYP, 2011) and has contributed to various edited volumes and journals including 'Ecologies du Smartphone' (2021) and 'Architectural Design'. Yasmine co-founded the Agbogbloshie Makerspace Platform and has participated in projects that explore themes of mobility and identity in urban contexts. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism (2017) and the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich (2023). With a multicultural background and extensive international experience, she received the Innovator Award from the Center for Pedagogy in Arts and Design at Penn State in 2018. She holds a Doctor of Design from Harvard University and a Master of Science in Architecture Studies from MIT.
