Biography

Professor Yasser Roudi works in the Department of Mathematics at King’s College London. He received his PhD from the SISSA (International School Advanced Studies) in 2005 and studied physics at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran. Before joining King’s College London, he held positions at the Kavli Institute for Systems Neuroscience in Norway, NORDITA, and University College London Institute for Advanced Study. Roudi is a member of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters and was awarded the Eric Kandel Young Neuroscientist Prize in 2015. His research focuses on theoretical neuroscience and neural networks, exploring the theoretical underpinnings of information processing in physics and disordered systems. He utilizes mathematical tools to develop and analyze models of information processing in the brain and machines, particularly investigating the role of oscillations and the toroidal topology of grid cells in information processing.
