Biography

Yasunori Nomura received his Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2000 and held a fellowship at the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. He served as a Miller Research Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley from 2000 to 2002 and worked as an Associate Scientist at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory from 2002 to 2003. He joined the Berkeley physics faculty in July 2003. His accolades include the DOE Outstanding Junior Investigator Award in 2004, the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship in 2005, the Hellman Fellowship in 2005, the Simons Fellowship in Theoretical Physics in 2012, and being named a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 2017.
