Dr. Yazhen Wang

Biography

Yazhen Wang is a Professor and the George Box Distinguished Chair in Statistics at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has a strong expertise in the field of statistics, particularly focusing on financial statistics and financial data science. His research interests encompass a variety of statistical methods and applications, including quantum computing, quantum tomography, and high-dimensional statistical inference. Additionally, he is skilled in machine learning techniques and nonparametric smoothing approaches. Wang has contributed to the study of change points and long-memory processes, and his work frequently involves order restricted statistical inferences. He is committed to advancing the statistical sciences through both teaching and research, contributing significantly to the academic community at UW–Madison.
