Biography

Yazi Ke is a Professor and Deputy Director of Research Operations at the Dementia Research Centre, part of the Department of Biomedical Sciences within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Macquarie University. He obtained his PhD in Medicine from the University of Sydney in December 2009 and subsequently became a postdoctoral research associate at the Brain Mind Research Institute of the University of Sydney from 2010 to 2013. In July 2013, he transitioned to the University of New South Wales to join the Dementia Research Unit, where he was promoted to Senior Lecturer in July 2017, supported by a prestigious NHMRC Career Development Fellowship (2017-2020). His research focuses on frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), particularly in developing and characterizing improved models using traditional transgenesis and AAV approaches, as well as deciphering the functions of pathogenic mutations related to neurodegenerative diseases.
