Biography

Professor Yee Leung is a Gynaecologic Oncologist who graduated from the University of Western Australia Medical School in 1984. He currently serves as the Clinical Academic and Head of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at UWA Medical School, and as the Medical Co-Director of Gynaecology at the Women Newborn Health Service (WNHS). Professor Leung is heavily involved in clinical research focusing on cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancers. He is a site investigator for the National Gynae-Oncology Registry and played a principal role in establishing the Western Australian Gynaecologic Cancer Biospecimen Bank in 2013, which supports international collaborative research. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he encourages medical students at UWA and has served as an external examiner for the University of Hong Kong. His involvement in surgical training includes chairing the Gynaecologic Surgical Training Working Group at RANZCOG. With extensive service to RANZCOG over 25 years, he has held various roles including Examiner, Councillor, and chair of the Guidelines Committee Board, and was honored with the President’s Medal in 2023.
