Biography

Yelena Bogdanova is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, within the Psychiatry Department. She earned her Ph.D. in Behavioral Neurosciences followed by a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Neuropsychology) from Boston University. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and has extensive research experience at the VA Boston Healthcare System. Her research focuses on the development and evaluation of neurorehabilitation treatments, specifically for traumatic brain injury (TBI) and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among returning veterans. She has been a Principal Investigator on several federally funded clinical trials aimed at cognitive rehabilitation and neuromodulation for TBI. Her work investigates the mechanisms of cognitive impairment and recovery, as well as novel rehabilitation strategies for veterans. Dr. Bogdanova is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist and is actively involved in various professional organizations, including the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, where she contributes as a member of the Cognitive Rehabilitation Task Force.
