Biography

Ms. Yeok-Fun Mah is currently a Lecturer in the Accounting and Finance discipline at the UWA Business School. She has had a long professional career in financial services in Singapore, bringing a wealth of practical experience and insights to her teaching. Ms. Mah began her professional career at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) in the Economics Department, and subsequently became a senior assistant director in the Securities Industry Department, overseeing regulatory compliance for securities firms, futures brokers, and fund management companies. After ten years of service at the central bank, she joined INVESCO, an Anglo-American investment management company, as the country head in Singapore. In 2004, Ms. Mah was offered a senior role at HSBC Global Asset Management, tasked with the Singapore operations and regional sales for Southeast Asia. During her six-year tenure, she significantly grew Singapore's operations to manage over US$2 billion in assets and established strong relationships with sovereign wealth funds and central banks in the region. She has also been nominated for UWA Business School teaching awards by the University Student Guild.
