Yi-Wei Chen received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Marine Biotechnology Resources from National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan, in 2009 and 2011, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in Basic Medical Sciences from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan, in 2018. Dr. Chen completed his postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at NCKU before joining the School of Dentistry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as a postdoctoral scholar in 2019. His research currently investigates the role of hydrogen sulfide regulation in the virulence potential of Fusobacterium nucleatum in diseases. Dr. Chen joined UCLA's faculty as an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Division of Oral Systemic Health Sciences in 2023. He has been an invited speaker at international symposiums and has conducted lectures and seminars focusing on genetics and pathogenesis.
