Dr. Yi Fang

Biography

Yi Fang is a Research Associate Professor at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering, involved in directing the NYU Multimedia Visual Computing Lab. He received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2011. With over a decade of industry experience at Siemens and Riverain Technologies, as well as significant academic experience as a senior staff scientist at Vanderbilt University, he has made considerable contributions to the fields of 3D computer vision and machine learning. Professor Fang's research primarily focuses on developing 3D deep learning technologies while exploring applications in robotics and autonomous driving. His extensive publication record includes over 50 papers in notable journals and conferences such as IEEE TPAMI, CVPR, and NeurIPS. He has served in various leadership roles in conference organization, including publicity chair for the ACM International Conference on Multimedia and program chair for the Asian Conference on Machine Learning. His commitment to advancing the field of computer vision is evident in his ongoing research endeavors and collaborations.
