Biography

Yi Luo is a Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in the School of Biotechnology, specializing in Theoretical Chemistry. He has been associated with KTH since 2005 and has made significant contributions to the fields of theoretical modeling, particularly in molecular electronics, nano-photonics, X-ray spectroscopies, and photocatalysis. Prior to this, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Stockholm University in 1997 and became an Associate Professor in 2000. He completed his PhD in computational physics at Linköping University in 1996 and conducted research at the ESCA-LASER Laboratory of Nobel Laureate, Prof. Kai Siegbahn, at Uppsala University starting in 1989. His research is widely published in prestigious journals such as Nature, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS), and the Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS). In recognition of his contributions to chemistry, he was awarded the Göran Gustafsson Prize in Chemistry by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 2010.
