Biography

Dr. Yian Gu received training in epidemiology at Fudan University and New York University, and his research aims to understand the role of diet, physical activities, sleep, and lifestyle factors in brain aging, cognitive aging, and neurodegenerative diseases. His current research focuses on elucidating biological mechanisms behind the lifestyle-brain relationship. He holds an MD in Maternal and Child Health from Shanghai Medical University, a Master of Science in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Fudan University, and a PhD in Epidemiology from New York University. He is also the Co-Director of the NIH T32 Neuro-Epidemiology Training Program. Dr. Gu is a member of several professional organizations including the International Society to Advance Alzheimer's Research and Treatment, the American Academy of Neurology, and the Society for Epidemiologic Research. His work has received recognition and funding from the National Institute on Aging, encompassing studies on dietary aspects in relation to cognitive health and Alzheimer’s disease.
