Dr. Yian Ma

Biography

Yian Ma is an Assistant Professor at the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute at the University of California, San Diego. His research focuses on scalable inference methods and theoretical guarantees, particularly in time series data and sequential decision making. He is actively developing new Bayesian inference algorithms and works extensively on uncertainty quantification, deriving computational statistical guarantees. Before his current role, Yian completed a post-doctoral fellowship at UC Berkeley. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Washington and holds a bachelor’s degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
